What is the difference between working with a Mindset Coach and a Therapist?
A Mindset Coach is a guide.
I will take you on a journey of self discovery, exploring your identity, what you really want out of your life, and help you to look for the silver linings in your life lessons, challenges and obstacles to gain clarity, insight and purpose.
A Mindset Coach is a teacher.
Each week you will learn tools, techniques and mindfulness practices to help create shifts and habit changes within your life. My work is philosophical, spiritual (not religious), and action-orientated. We have a set out program to achieve certain goals within a specific time frame.
A Mindset Coach is an accountability person.
Your results are 100% up to you. You will be expected to do the work, use the tools, and apply what you have learned. Incredible outcomes are possible and I will be your biggest cheerleader every step of the way!
A Mindset Coach has walked the road before you.
Although our stories may be different, I have no doubt we have felt similar thoughts, feelings and emotions. I have faced challenges and obstacles in my life and I have hit rock bottom. I have rebuilt my mindset and my life back to thriving. I know that all of the knowledge I share with you works, because I have used it and applied to my own life. I still do this day use the tools daily! I share with you my story, my personal experience and how I apply the tools to my life.
A Mindset Coach is not a trained Mental Health Professional.
Psychologist, Psychiatrist, Psychotherapist etc, are best to treat conditions like mental illness and disorders, addictions, process trauma or PTSD. A Coach is not equipped to treat or diagnose mental health conditions (or any conditions!). Women with serious anxiety (GAD, Panic Disorder etc), or who are dealing with depression and suicidal thoughts, or happen to be in an emotional crisis typically find more comfort in therapy and I would recommend you seek help from a mental health practitioner.
Both Coaching and Therapy can have a place in your life and provide incredible results!
I mainly work with clients who have already had some sort of therapy for a period of time to work through the issues or trauma they have experienced, and they are ready to take the next step. I also have clients who want to work with me AND continue to see a therapist at the same time. Sometimes it takes a village of incredible people to help us achieve the results we are looking for in life - and that is more than OK!
Please note: if you are currently seeing a mental health professional, or on medication, a referral letter will be required to begin coaching with me - so that everyone on your team is working together!
