Dealing with Stress & AnxietyDid you know that the ultimate cause of disease is stress?
Stress affects not only your thoughts, feelings and behaviour, it also affects your body function. Constant stress for long periods of time can contribute to many health problems, including heart disease, obesity and diabetes. In women stress can make IBS symptoms worse, and the link between stress and weight gain is increased due to the hormone cortisol. Stress lowers your energy, causes headaches, stomach upsets and nausea, body aches, and tense pain, rapid heart beat and chest pain. It lowers your immune system causing frequent colds and infections. |
Anxiety statistics say that 1 in 3 women will experience anxiety during their lifetime.
There is an increased chance of experiencing anxiety while pregnant and during the first year after birth (source Beyond Blue). The first time I ever really felt Anxiety personally and called Beyond Blue was after my son was born – for the first time in my life I felt completely out of my depth.
The major issue I see with stress and anxiety today is insomnia. An endless cycle as poor sleep patterns lead to increased stress and anxiety. Yes, that “awake all night” episode or the "5:30am wake up" for no reason is probably due to your stress and anxiety. Anxiety is a fear based emotion, where our sole focus is on the fear of something happening in the future. We get so fixated on that fear that what we cannot understand at this point the fear is only “imagined” - it actually hasn’t happened yet. NLP has introduced me to an incredible 3 Step Anxiety Release Technique which I have been able to use in my life and the life of my clients with huge success. If you suffer from anxiety – get in touch and book your Anxiety Release session with me today. |
