Can Meditation remove negative thoughts?Did you know that our mindset determines how we live our life? Yes, almost 95% of our thoughts are actually repetitive, with 80% considered to be negative thoughts! No wonder we struggle with those statistics. Hearing the endless loop of our inner critic telling us we are not worthy and not good enough.
Research shows that mediation is a great tool to purge the mind of negative thoughts and move beyond into living a more balanced and less stressful life. How? Meditation brings you back to centre, in what Meditation Guru Deepak Chopra calls “present moment awareness” where your thoughts and worries are cast aside for a moment of time – replaced by positive mantras, visualizations and thinking. |
“Your mind is a powerful thing. When you filter it with positive thoughts your life will start to change” - Buddha
Why is it so important to relieve stress? Stress is the ultimate cause of disease in the body. As we are going through extreme periods stress our body has a physiological reaction releasing hormones cortisol and adrenaline which lock us into a “fight or flight” response. This was helpful in the dinosaur age, but not so helpful now. Too much of these hormones can lead to many serious health problems – like depression, anxiety, heart disease, high blood pressure, heart attacks, and stroke.
Meditation effectively reduces the effects of the “flight or fight” response, decreasing the production of stress hormones. Meditation allows the mind to relax, expands your consciousness, releases tension, gives you relief from stress and anxiety, increases energy, physically decreases blood pressure and hypertension, lowers cholesterol levels, gives you a restful sleep and now research has shown meditation restores the brain. |
In my group online and private 1:1 coaching programs I introduce you to healthy mindset practices including daily guided meditation to help you relieve stress, become more centred and fill your mind with positive thoughts to drown out the negative noise.
